Faraway Land

Faraway Land is a series of atmospheric landscape paintings developed over the past eight months.

During this period my work gradually drifted away from purely spontaneous abstraction and moved closer to the spirit of classical landscape painting. I found myself increasingly drawn to the luminous worlds of Turner and Monet, where light, atmosphere and colour carry the emotional weight of the scene.

A recent trip to Milan also influenced the palette of this series — soft turquoise waters, rose-coloured skies, earthy yellows and muted blues that echo memories of distant places and shifting weather.

These paintings do not depict real locations. Instead, the landscapes slowly emerge through the process of painting itself — somewhere between control and chance.

Built through layers of glazing and spontaneous marks, each work explores the quiet moment where colour, light and emotion meet, forming landscapes that feel remembered rather than seen.
